KyungSung MT Green Purchasing Policy

Article 1 (Purpose)
This policy defines and implements the green purchasing activities of KyungSung MT’s Purchasing Team. It aims to fulfill the company’s social responsibilities by contributing to environmental preservation and the conservation of natural resources, thereby enhancing social value.
Article 2 (Definitions of Terms)

The definitions of terms used in this policy are as follows:

  • 1. “Eco-friendly goods” refer to products or services that contribute to resource conservation and reduce environmental pollution compared to other items with similar purposes, including:
    • a) Environmentally certified items: Products certified or eco-labeled by recognized domestic or international bodies (public or private).
    • b) Company-designated items: Items reviewed and approved by the Purchasing Team based on their environmental benefits, such as ease of reuse/recycling, or reduced impact on the environment or human health compared to conventional products, and deemed improved through the company’s sustainability initiatives.
  • 2. "Green purchasing" refers to giving priority to purchasing the items specified in each subparagraph of Paragraph 1.
Article 3 (Scope of Application)
This policy applies to all procurement activities related to raw and subsidiary materials necessary for the production of the company’s products.
Article 4 (Relationship with Other Regulations)
Unless otherwise stipulated by other regulations, matters related to green purchasing shall be handled in accordance with this policy.
Article 5 (Basic Principles of Green Purchasing)
  • 1. Green purchasing operations shall adhere to procurement practices aligned with the corporate values of Integrity, Leadership, Diligence, and Innovation.
  • 2. To expand green purchasing for environmental protection and resource conservation, the company shall continuously identify eco-friendly goods and pursue improvement activities to reduce environmental impact.
  • 3. To ensure the stable supply of eco-friendly goods, the company shall secure reliable suppliers and give priority to purchasing such products whenever available.
Article 6 (Scope of Green Purchasing Activities)

Green purchasing activities by the Purchasing Team include the following:

  • a) Establishing standards for eco-friendly products and guiding internal departments to prioritize such products when making purchase requests.
  • b) Giving preference to eco-friendly products alongside evaluations of quality and price.
  • c) Communicating the green purchasing policy to suppliers and identifying environmentally preferable items.
  • d) Managing records and tracking performance related to eco-friendly purchases.
  • e) Establishing and operating a compliance control system to proactively prevent procurement risks and respond systematically.
Article 7 (Supplier Responsibilities)
  • 1. Suppliers must provide evidence (e.g., eco-labels or certifications) that their products meet environmental criteria when entering into contracts.
  • 2. Any significant changes in the environmental attributes of supplied items after contract execution must be reported to KyungSung MT.
  • 3. Suppliers shall strive to minimize environmental impacts during manufacturing and establish a corresponding environmental management system.
Article 8 (Support for Suppliers)

KyungSung MT may offer the following support to suppliers who actively cooperate with the company’s green purchasing policy:
